Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Grease for plug serration of clutch disc -G 000 100-
   
1 - Gearbox
2 - Ball stud, 25 Nm
q   Original grease must be removed from the contact surface of the clutch release lever
q   grease with grease -G 000 100-
3 - Gasket ring for drive shaft
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
4 - Guide bushing with O-ring
q   O-ring is fitted to guide bushing
q   if O-ring is damaged, replace O-ring and bushing together → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
q   remove and install → Fig. together with the clutch release lever and clutch release bearing
q   Grease guide bushing in the area of the release lever with grease -G 000 100-
5 - Retaining spring
q   attach to clutch release lever
6 - Cylinder bolt, 20 Nm
7 - Clutch release lever
q   remove and install → Fig. together with clutch release bearing
q   Original grease must be removed from the contact surface of the clutch release lever
q   Grease contact surface on the ball stud with grease -G 000 100-
8 - Release bearing
q   Do not wash the bearing, just wipe clean
q   replace noisy bearings → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
q   removing and installing → Fig.
q   Grease contact surfaces on the clutch release lever with grease -G 000 100-
9 - Slave cylinder
q   removing and installing (Octavia II) → Chapter
q   removing and installing (Superb II) → Chapter
q   removing and installing (Yeti) → Chapter
q   Grease tappet head with grease - G 000 100-
10 - Collar screw, 20 Nm
11 - Mounting bolt
q   secures the clutch release lever when installing the gearbox (Octavia II) → Chapter
q   secures the clutch release lever when installing the gearbox (Superb II) → Chapter
q   secures the clutch release lever when installing the gearbox (Yeti) → Chapter
q   unscrew after the gearbox has been installed (Octavia II) → Chapter
q   unscrew after the gearbox has been installed (Superb II) → Chapter
q   unscrew after the gearbox has been installed (Yeti) → Chapter
  Note
If a mounting bolt Pos. 11 is not provided, use bolt M8 x 35.

   
Remove and install the clutch release lever together with the release bearing and guide bushing
–  Unhook spring -arrow 1- upwards.
–  Remove clutch release lever -arrow 2- and clutch release bearing.
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Removing and installing the release bearing
–  Press the catch pegs -arrows- together on the rear side of the clutch release lever and remove the release bearing -A- from the clutch release lever.
–  To install press the clutch release lever into the clutch release bearing -A- until the catch pegs -arrows- lock into position.
