t  Universal dial gauge holder -MP3-447 (VW 387)-
t  Dial gauge
   
Test sequence
–  Insert valve into valve guide.
l  The end of valve stem must be flush with guide.
–  Determine valve rock.
l  Wear limit of valve rock: 0.6 mm.
  Note
t  If the wear limit is exceeded, repeat measurement with new valves. If the wear limit is again exceeded, replace cylinder head. The valve guides cannot be replaced.
t  If the valve is replaced when carrying out repair work, use a new valve for the measurement.
