Removing and installing side window
Removing and installing side window
  WARNING
After replacing the vehicle windows, they must be provided with the vehicle identification number → Chapter.
Removing damaged window
  WARNING
Wear protective goggles and gloves when cutting hardened PUR adhesive cement and when working with window and cutting cord.
–  Protect vehicle interior from glass splinters.
–  Cover the painted surfaces along the window with textile adhesive tape.
–  Cut back adhesive cement to a thickness of approx. 1 mm.
Removing undamaged window
  WARNING
Wear protective goggles and gloves when cutting hardened PUR adhesive cement and when working with window and cutting cord.
–  Cover the painted surfaces along the window with textile adhesive tape.
   
–  Pierce adhesive cement with piercing needle in the window corner -arrow-.
–  Draw cutting cord through the needle.
–  Insert cutting cord all around the side window behind the sealing profile.
–  Attach spooler -V.A.G 1654A- to the inner side of the window and insert the cord end into the spooler.
–  Partially cut through the adhesive cement with spooler -V.A.G 1654A-.
–  Pull the other cutting cord end into the vehicle and insert cutting cord holder -1-.
–  Cut through the adhesive cement all around the side window, use steering roller in the window corners -V.A.G 1474/1-.
–  Remove window with the aid of the suction cup gripper e.g. -V.A.G. 1344-.
Installing side window
–  Prepare flange for fitting → Chapter.
–  Glueing on → Chapter.
–  Waiting time → Chapter.
