Repairing the front brake > < Handbrake
Removing and installing the brake pedal for a left-hand drive vehicle
Removing and installing the brake pedal for a left-hand drive vehicle
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Release tool -T10159-
Removing:
–  Remove the storage area on the driver's side → Body Work; Rep. Gr.70
–  Remove brake light switch -F- and brake pedal switch -F47- → Chapter
   
–  Press the brake pedal towards the brake servo unit and hold it in position.
–  Insert release tool -T10159- and pull it in the direction of the driver's seat while counterholding the brake pedal (the pedal must not move backwards during this operation). This causes the retaining lugs -3- of the support to be pressed off the spherical head of the push rod -2-.

–  Pull the release tool -T10159- and brake pedal together in the direction of the driver's seat (this causes the brake pedal to be drawn off the spherical head of the push rod).
–  Take the brake pedal out of the push rod

–  Remove the lock washer -1- from the bolts for the clutch and brake pedals -2-.
–  Loosen the screw -3- until the it is released from the groove -arrow-.
–  Push the bolts -2- to the left until the brake pedal can be pulled out.
–  Remove the brake pedal.
Installing:
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Only tighten the screw -3- when the lock washer has been placed on the bolts for clutch and brake pedal.
Clipping the brake pedal onto the brake servo unit
–  Hold the spherical head of the push rod in front of the support and press the brake pedal towards the brake servo unit until the spherical head locks audibly into place.
–  Installing and setting the brake light switch -F- and brake pedal switch -F47- → Chapter
–  Install the storage area on the driver's side → Body Work; Rep. Gr.70

Tightening torque:
Screw to secure the bearing screws5 Nm
