^ Park the vehicle on a dry solid surface (concrete preferred). With the engine idling, transmission in park or neutral with the parking brake applied, turn

the steering wheel to the full right or left position. If the noise is heard, replace the relief valve.

^ Remove the power steering pump; refer to the applicable service manual.

^ Place the power steering pump in a vise.
