Accelerator Pedal Switch: Description and Operation
PURPOSE
On ECVT models, accelerator switch operation is used to detect when the clutch current is turned ON and OFF.
LOCATION
Beneath dash next to accelerator pedal assembly.
OPERATION
When stopping, the accelerator switch signal, with the vehicle speed pulse, is used by the ECU to turn off clutch current and prevent engine
stalling. When starting from a stop, the switch signals the ECU to send current to the clutch for engagement.
