Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1.

Check resistance between terminals B and D and between B and C.

2.

Ensure a resistance of 3.5-6.5k ohms exists between terminals B and D.

3.

Ensure resistance between terminals B and C is less than 1k ohms with throttle valve fully closed and greater than 2.4k ohms with throttle valve
fully open.

4.

Ensure resistance between terminals B and C increases continuously when throttle valve is moved from fully closed to fully open position.

5.

Ensure resistance between B and C decreases continuously when throttle valve is moved from fully open to fully closed position.

6.

If resistances are not as described, replace throttle sensor.
