SPEEDOMETER CABLE NOISE
A ticking noise in the speedometer unit maybe caused by instability the speedometer cable.
This condition can be repaired by installing a bushing on the speedometer cable core.
NOTE:
Don't use this repair for speedometer cables

twisted or kinked, ^ casing worn
^
or when a lack of lubrication is present.

Anaerobic glue. Examples: Super Glue*, Krazy Glue*, etc. (*Trade Marks).
NOTE:
The glue must work with metal and plastic, check the label.
TOOLS REQUIRED
17 mm Open-end Wrench Needle Nose Pliers
STEP 1) Remove the spare tire assembly.

STEP 2) Locate the speedometer cable transmission connection. (See Figure 1). Use a 17 mm open end wrench, and remove the cable from the
transmission. Do not remove the cable from the dash connection.
