Timing Belt: Service and Repair
Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Install inner righthand and lefthand belt covers. Tighten bolts to specification.
2. Install tensioner bracket and tighten bolts to specifications.
3. Install crankshaft sprocket.
4. Install righthand, then the lefthand camshaft sprockets. Lock sprocket using tool No. 499207100 or equivalent and torque bolt to specifications.
Lefthand sprocket can be identified by a projection used to monitor cam-angle sensor.
Tensioner Installation
5. Vertically push tensioner adjuster rod into adjuster body using a suitable press, then completely insert stopper pin .059 inch diameter into tensioner
adjuster to hold rod in place. Do not allow press pressure to exceed 2205 lbs.

Install tensioner adjuster. Ensure adjuster is positioned completely to the right and tighten retaining bolts.
