Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

Using accurate tester, inspect the following items, and replace it defective.

CAUTION:  It the resistance is extremely low, this indicates the presence of a short-circuit. 

1. Primary resistance

Between (1) and (2) ...................................................................................................................................................................... 0.69 Ohms ± 10% 
Between (3) and (4) ...................................................................................................................................................................... 0.69 Ohms ± 10% 

2. Secondary coil resistance

Between No. 1 and No. 2 .......................................................................................................................................................... 21.0 K.Ohms ± 15% 
Between No. 2 and No. 3 .......................................................................................................................................................... 21.0 K.Ohms ± 15% 

3. Insulation between primary terminal and case:  10 M.Ohms or more.
