DESCRIPTION
The following information supplements the WWE-88 "Front Spring Guard Bulletin" released in September 2001.
After-market Replacement Struts
It has been determined that Front Spring Guards may not properly fit on vehicles equipped with some non-OE (after-market) replacement front struts. In
cases where it is not possible to install the Front Spring Guards, it will be necessary to install new OE replacement front springs. In these cases,
replacement of the front springs will be covered by the recall and eliminate the need to install Front Spring Guards in order to complete the WWE-88
recall.
The vehicle owner should be advised that the front springs were replaced as an alternate repair method because the vehicle had non-OE (after-market)
replacement front struts and the Front Spring Guards would not properly fit.
Replacement of after-market front struts with new O.E. struts, in order to install Front Spring Guards, will not be covered by this recall.

Revised VIN Range
SOA has determined that the VIN range for 1996 Legacy sedans was published incorrectly. The correct VIN range is T*200001 - T*213040. Owners of
affected vehicles within all VIN ranges have been notified.
