Radiator: Service and Repair

Radiator & Cooling Fan

1.  Disconnect battery ground, loosen radiator cap and drain coolant.
2.  Loosen hose clamps from inlet and outlet hoses and then remove hoses from radiator.
3.  For systems with automatic transmissions, disconnect oil lines and cap them off, all the while draining the oil from the radiator into a suitable

container.

4.  Disconnect electrical connectors form the fan and thermo-switch.
5.  Remove mounting bolts (2), and lift radiator up and away avoiding spilling any remaining fluid in radiator cavity.

Reverse procedures to install. Fill system with coolant and transmission fluid.

Check the cap opening pressure to be open at 11.6 - 14.4 lbs.
