TAILGATE HANDLE STICKING REPAIR
If you encounter a complaint of a tailgate handle sticking due to a build up of salt corrosion, the operation of the handle can be returned to normal with a
simple lubrication procedure.
1.
Free-up the handle by spraying the spring, pin and moving portion of the handle with a penetrating lubricant while working the handle in and out
slowly.
2.
When the handle moves freely, apply lithium grease to the same portions.
Make sure you wipe off any lubricant overspray from painted surfaces.
Lubrication of the handle spring and pin should be included in your PDI procedures as well as during normal maintenance services.
This simple step will help ensure the satisfaction of your customers with their Subaru.
