Low Hold Relay: Description and Operation

Kick-Down Relay

PURPOSE

Signals the A/T to shift into the next lower gear.

LOCATION

Behind L.H. side of glove box.

OPERATION

Based on signals from the coolant temperature sensor, throttle position sensor and vehicle speed sensor, the ECM will energize the kick-down
relay. This causes the A/T to shift to the next lower gear.
