Differential Side Retainer Oil Seal
Differential Side Retainer Oil Seal
INSPECTION
Check leakage of gear oil from the differential side retainer oil seal part. If there is oil leakage, replace with a new oil seal.
REPLACEMENT
1. Lift-up the vehicle.
2. Drain gear oil from differential oil drain plug.
3. Replace with a new gasket and tighten the differential oil drain plug.
Tightening torque: 70 Nm (7.1 kgf-cm, 51 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove the front and center exhaust pipe.
5. Separate the front drive shaft from transmission.
6. Remove the differential side retainer oil seal.
NOTE:

Be sure to replace the differential side retainer oil seal with a new one after the procedure of removing the front drive shaft from transmission.

When prying to remove the part using flat tip screwdriver, be careful not to scratch the differential side retainer. ST 398527700 puller
assembly may be used for this operation procedure.
7. Using the ST, install the differential side retainer by slightly tapping with a plastic hammer.
