Cruise Control Lever Vibration
INTRODUCTION
There is the possibility that the cruise control lever could vibrate as the result of the cruise control switch printed circuit board not setting in the switch
case tightly. To eliminate the vibration, a piece of non-woven material will need to be installed between the cover of the cruise control switch and printed
circuit board.
PRODUCTION LINE CHANGE
A countermeasure was used in production starting with the VIN's shown.
PARTS INFORMATION
A non-woven material, as an example 3M Temflex 1755 (available through most automotive jobbers), will be required. Black electrical tape may also be
used, however it will need to be layered twice to gain the thickness required.
REPAIR PROCEDURES/INFORMATION
1)
Remove the steering wheel (refer to the applicable Subaru Service Manual).
NOTE:
Before disconnecting battery, record the pre-set radio stations.
2)
Using a clean work surface, turn over the steering wheel and remove the two screws that secure the cruise control switch and cover (see Figures 1
and 2).
