(4) Using a clean paper towel folded, clean any dirt that has accumulated between the wheel bearing housing and hub. Change the towel as needed and
make sure the entire circumference has been cleaned.
Note:
If the special tool is not available, a 0.5mm thick feeler gauge may be used inserted no more than 8mm. Extreme caution must be used, inserting further
than 8mm can scratch the bearing. If possible, try to use a suitable plastic tool.
(5) Insert the tip of the special tool into the seal lip until the step portion of the tool hits the bearing outer race.
(6) With the special tool inserted, rotate the hub and special tool together 90° degrees (12:00 to 3:00 position) going back and forth several times
insuring that the seal lip is separated from the flange. Remove the tool and wipe off any dirt or grease on the tool.
(7) Repeat the procedure 3 additional times, 90° at a time (3:00 to 6:00, 6:00 to 9:00, and 9:00 to 12:00) insuring that the procedure is performed on the
entire circumference.
(8) Reinstall brake caliper, rotor and wheel.
(9) Road test vehicle to confirm noise is gone.
