Wagon 4WD F4-1781cc 1.8L Turbo (1984)
Note: Refer to Fig. 1 for proper belt routing.
To replace the timing belt, proceed as follows:
1.
Verify that the timing indicator on the flywheel is lined up with the middle mark as shown in Fig. 4.
NOTE: This is not Top Dead Center (TDC) of the engine. These marks merely set the camshaft and crankshaft in the proper position to remove and
replace the timing belts.
2.
Remove all belt driven accessories as necessary to gain access to the timing belt covers.
3.
Remove the air bleed hose, oil filler duct and water pipe.
4.
Remove crankshaft pulley.
5.
Remove the water pump pulley.
6.
Remove the oil level dip stick and tube.
