Idle Speed: Adjustments
Idle Speed
Before attempting engine idle speed adjustment, make the following preparations:
1.
Ensure that ignition timing is correct.
2.
Ensure that all vacuum hoses are secure and in good condition.
3.
Fully warm up engine. To bring oxygen sensor up to temperature, run engine at 2500 rpm for one minute after engine warm up.
4.
Disconnect and plug EVAP system purge hose to throttle body.
Idle Speed Adjustment (MPFI)
1.
Completely warm up engine. Hook up tachometer.
2.
Ensure that auxiliary air valve is completely closed and ignition timing is set to specification.
3.
Adjust idle speed with idle adjusting screw on throttle body.

Manual Transmission:
700 ± 100
Automatic Transmission:
800 ± 100
