Equator 2WD V6-4.0L (2009)
^ Allow the entire bed to "flash" for 30 minutes at 70°F - 100°F before going to Step 1 under "Bedliner Surface Finishing".
NOTE:
If any whitening returns, repeat step 1 under "Cleaning".
Step 2: Masking:
^ Using 3M(TM) Automotive Refinishing Masking Tape (or equivalent), mask off the 12V Power outlet. Then, mask off around the area to be
refinished.
^ Follow with 12-24 inches of 3M(TM) Gold Refinishing Masking Paper (or equivalent) around the same area being refinished.
^ Cover the rest of the vehicle with 3M(TM) Automotive Masking Film (or equivalent).
Bedliner Surface Finishing:
Step 1: Apply Pretreatment (DBLT3):
^ DBLT3 is ready to apply - no other reduction or hardeners are required.
^ Apply DBLT3 Pretreatment using a SATA gravity feed spray gun with a 1.3-1.5 mm fluid tip or equivalent.
^ Apply 1 full wet coat of pretreatment over the complete bed. Allow entire bed to flash (dry) for 30 minutes at 70°F - 100°F before going to the
next step.
Step 2: Apply Durabed Surface Finisher (DBLF4A):
^ Mix DBLF4A Surface Finisher as follows:
^ 4 parts DBLF4A Surface Finisher
^ 1 part DBLH4B Hardener for Surface Finisher
NOTE:
Pot life is 3-4 hours @ 70°F.
^ Using a SATA gravity feed spray gun with a 1.3-1.5 mm Fluid tip or equivalent, apply 1 medium wet coat of DBLF4A Surface Finisher over
the complete bed. Target thickness is 1 coat @ 1.5-1.8 mils dry film.
^ When complete, allow the DBLF4A Surface Finisher to flash 5-10 minutes. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 140°F. Allow to cool and de-mask.
Vehicle Reassembly:
1.
After removing the masking, allow 1 hour before reassembly.
2.
Reinstall the following items to the vehicle:
^ Utili-track(TM) rails and covers (Torque T-40 bolts to 28.5 Nm, (2.9 kg-m, 21 ft-lb).
^ Tie Down Hooks
^ Rubber Plugs
^ Tailgate and Rubber Tailgate Stopsails and covers (Torque T-40 bolts to 28.5 Nm, (2.9 kg-m, 21 ft-lb).
