Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming: Service and Repair
DISARMING
1. Place front wheels in straight ahead position.
2. Turn ignition switch to Lock position and remove key, then disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove Air Bag-IG fuse from air bag fuse panel, Air bag fuse box is located under lefthand side of instrument panel near junction/fuse panel.
4. Remove lefthand upper steering column cap, then unlock and disconnect driver's air bag module yellow connector.
5. Open glove compartment while pushing stopper from left and righthand sides, then remove compartment.
6. Disconnect passenger's air bag yellow connector.
ARMING
1. Turn ignition switch to Lock position and remove key.
2. Connect passenger's and driver's air bag yellow connectors. Ensure connector lock levers lock securely.
3. Install glove compartment and steering column upper lefthand cap, then install Air Bag-IG fuse.
4. Insure no one is inside vehicle then connect battery ground cable.
5. Turn ignition switch to On position and note air bag lamp operation.
6. If air bag lamp does not flash seven times, then go off, an SRS malfunction is indicated. Diagnose and repair as necessary.
