Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Fill oil tank with fluid to specified level, then turn steering wheel left or right three or four times.
3. After running engine at idling speed for three to five seconds, stop engine and add fluid to meet specification.
4. With engine stopped, turn steering wheel to right and left as far as possible, then repeat a few times and add fluid to specified level.
5. With engine idling, repeat stop-to-stop turn of steering wheel until all foam in oil tank is gone.
6. Bleed air completely. If air remains in fluid, power steering pump may make humming noise or steering wheel may feel heavy.
7. Ensure fluid is filled to specified level.
