CONDITION:
Brake lights remain on continuously without brake pedal application.
CAUSE:
The brake light switch may become misadjusted if an upward/rearward force is applied to the brake pedal. The electrical contacts in a misadjusted brake
light switch may not open when the brake pedal is at its natural rest position causing the brake lights to remain on continuously without brake pedal
application, with the ignition switch on or off.
CORRECTION:
Replace the brake light switch with the new brake light switch listed below. Refer to replacement procedure.

Replacement Procedure
1.
Be sure the vehicle is safely parked with the ignition switch OFF.
2.
Working under the dash, disconnect the brake light switch plug connector.
