Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CKP (Crankshaft Position) Sensor Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Remove generator.
3. Disconnect connector from CKP sensor.
4. Remove CKP sensor (1) from cylinder block (2).

Installation

Reverse removal procedure noting the following.

-

Apply engine oil to O-ring of sensor.

CAUTION:  Use new CKP sensor bolt.

-

Tighten CKP sensor bolt to specified torque.

Tightening torque
CKP sensor bolt: 11 N.m (1.1 Kg-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)

Connect connector and fix wire harness with clamp securely.
