It is recommended that only Suzuki oil filters (P/N 16510-83011) be used for replacement on Suzuki Samurais. The use of incorrect or non-Suzuki oil
filters may result in a lack of engine oil lubrication and cause serious engine damage.
The use of an oil filter for a Sprint is incorrect. Although manufactured by Suzuki, a Sprint filter is over 20% smaller than a Samurai filter. See the table:
