Idle Speed: Adjustments
Idle Up Speed

1.

Refer to "Curb Idle Speed Adjustment," to ensure that curb idle speed is within specification.

2.

Start engine and run until it reaches normal operating temperature.

3.

Ensure idle idle up actuator rod moves down, Fig. 1, when headlamps are turned On.

With headlamps turned On and all other accessories including engine cooling fan are Off, check and adjust idle up speed to 900-1000 RPM with
idle up adjusting screw, Fig. 1.

5.

After adjusting idle up speed, ensure that idle up adjusting screw moves down  when heater fan or rear defogger are operated. All remaining
accessories should be off.
