This system consists of a solenoid valve mounted in the primary idle circuit of the carburetor, Fig. 12. The solenoid valve cuts off fuel supply to
prevent dieseling when the ignition is shut off, and to improve fuel economy and reduce catalyst overheating during deceleration.
Fuel supply is cut when the following conditions are met:
a. Coolant is at normal operating temperature.
b. Idle micro switch is in ON position, primary throttle valve is closed.
c. Engine speed above 2400 RPM.
