Perform ``Hold-In Test,'' then disconnect negative lead from body, Fig. 10.
2.
Pinion must retract quickly. If pinion remains out, replace magnetic switch.
No-Load Performance Test

Connect test leads as shown in Fig. 11.
2.
Pinion should move out and motor should run without stopping.
3.
Check ammeter current. Refer to Starting and Charging/Starting System/Specifications.
