CONDITION No or hard start/engine flooded when the ambient temperature is approximately 32^ F. This condition is experienced especially in the high
altitude areas.
REPAIR Install the countermeasure Cold Start Harness Set (P/N 36690-60A00). On the back of this page are the installation instructions for this vehicle.
To prevent any damage to the ECM be sure to follow these instructions!
1.
Be sure ignition switch is in the "off" position.
2.
Disconnect the ECM connectors and pull the harness down for service.
3.
Remove the tape from the harness to expose the ECM's connector wires, as shown in the illustration.
4.
Using pliers, install the wire splice clips onto the specified wires.
CAUTION! A wrong connection may cause damage to the ECM. Therefore, observe the correct wire color for each connection.
5.
Reconnect the ECM connectors.
6.
Using the ECM cover screw, install the cold start set and black ground wire.
7.
As illustrated, tape the cold stan harness wires together, to prevent interference with the clutch pedal operation (if applicable).
8.
Confirm that the condition is resolved.
