Rotor Vane 

^

Wear and damage of rotor sliding surface against pump body.

^

Wear and damage of vane sliding surface against cam ring.

^

Vane to rotor clearance.

Clearance: 

Standard 0.01 mm (0.0004 inch) 
Limit 0.06 mm (0.0023 inch)
 

Replace P/S pump if any of the above is found.

Flow Control Valve 

^

Wear and damage on outside of valve.

^

Obstruction in connector orifice.

^

Free length of flow control spring.

Length: 

Standard 33.5 mm (1.32 inch) 
Limit 30.5 mm (1.20 inch)
 

Replace P/S pump if any of the above is found.

ASSEMBLY 

Reverse DISASSEMBLY procedure for assembly, noting the following.,

1. Apply power steering fluid to shaft outer surface and insert it from oil seal side.

2. Apply power steering fluid to O-rings and fit them to pump body.
3. Install side plate to pump body aligning pin grooves of side plate with cover bolt holes as shown in figure.
