Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Rear
Except GT Models
1.
Remove brake drum.
2.
Remove wheel bearings from brake drum.
3.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install both bearings with sealed side outward.
b. Fill 40 percent of bearing cavity with bearing lubricant.
GT Models
Wheel bearing and hub form a solid unit. If wheel bearing is defective, replace hub assembly.
