Remove steering gear case from vehicle.
1.
Move both boots toward tie rod ends, then remove tie rods from steering rack.
2.
Remove steering pinion as outlined under STEERING PINION.
3.
Remove rack from case as shown in Fig. 9.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply grease to entire teeth surface of rack.
b. Ensure rack side mount is positioned as shown in Fig. 10.
