CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit a fuel gauge reading that is incorrect. The fuel gauge may read near full when the actual fuel level is 1/4 tank or less, or the
fuel gauge may be erratic during driving.
CAUSE:
Sulfur in the fuel may attach to the fuel level sender electrode and create a higher than normal resistance. The increased resistance can cause the gauge to
read incorrectly.
CORRECTION:
Remove and replace the Fuel Sender from the Fuel Pump Assembly. Refer to the repair procedure below.
