Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
HO2S-2 With WU-TWC and HO2S-1
Removal
WARNING: To avoid danger of being burned, do not touch exhaust system when system is hot. Oxygen sensor removal should be performed
when system is cool.
1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Remove connector from bracket (3) and disconnect coupler of HO2S.
3. Remove exhaust manifold upper cover (2), if necessary.
4. Hoist vehicle when removing HO2S-2 (with WU-TWC).
5. Remove HO2S-1 from exhaust manifold.
CAUTION: Be careful not to expose it to excessive shock. It may cause damage to sensor inside.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the followings.

Tighten HO2S (with WU-TWC) and HO2S-1 to specified torque.
Tightening torque
HO2S (with WU-TWC) and HO2S-1 (a): 45 N.m (4.5 kg-m, 32.5 lb-ft)

Connect coupler of HO2S and fit connector to bracket (3).

After installing HO2S, start engine and check that no exhaust gas leakage exists.
