DTC 1053 (Steps 1 - 3)

DTC WILL SET WHEN:

With setting DTC related to initiator circuit, the SDM detects a frontal crash of sufficient force to warrant activation of the air bag system. (SDM outputs
a activation command.)

NOTE:

DTC B1053 can never be cleared once it has been set.
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform following items.

1. Replace SDM.
2. Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
3. Repeat "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Table", to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
