Inspection:
Visually inspect the stop lamp switch.
If the switch has an all black or all white plastic housing with a yellow-green color plated thread area it must be replaced; continue with Removal and
Installation. For identification of the incorrect switch, see the picture.
If the switch has a silver colored metal upper housing and threaded area, STOP. It is the updated new part; proceed to Special Service Campaign Sticker
Installation. For identification of the correct switch, see the picture.
Removal and Installation:
1.
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2.
Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector.
3.
Remove the stop lamp switch lock nut and remove the switch.
4.
Install the new switch.
