Thrust Clearance

MEASURE CRANKSHAFT THRUST CLEARANCE

Using a dial gauge, measure the crankshaft thrust clearance while prying the crankshaft back and forth with a screwdriver.

Standard clearance:  0.02 - 0.22mm (0.0008 - 0.0087 in.) 
Maximum clearance:  0.3mm (0.012 in.)

If the clearance is greater than maximum, replace the thrust washers as a set and/or crankshaft. 

Thrust washer thickness:

Standard:  2.690 - 2.740 mm (0.1059 - 0.1079 in.)
0/S 1.25

2.753 - 2.803 mm (0.1084 - 0.1104 in.)

0/S 2.50

2.815 -  2.865 mm (0.1108 - 0.1128 in.)
