5. install the new oil storage ring and the drive pinion front and rear bearing outer races by doing the following.
a. Using the 09316 - 60011 (09316-00011, 09316-00021) Special Service Tool (SST) and a hammer, install a new oil storage ring.
b. Using the 09316-60011 (09316-00011, 09316-00021, 09316 00051) SST and a press, install the outer races.
6. Install the drive pinion front bearing by performing the following steps.
a. Install the plate washer on the drive pinion.
b. Using the 09506-30012 SST and a press, install the rear bearing onto the drive pinion.
7. Temporarily adjust the drive pinion preload, doing the following.
a. Install the drive pinion, front bearing and oil slinger.
NOTE: Assemble the spacer and oil seal after adjusting the gear contact pattern.
b. Install the companion flange with the 09950-30010 (09951-3010, 09953 - 03010, 09954-3010, 09955-3030, 0995-03030) SST.
c. Adjust the drive pinion preload by tightening the companion flange nut. Using the 0933-00021 SST to hold the flange, tighten the nut.
NOTE: As there is no spacer, tighten a little at a time, being careful not to overtighten.
