Tachometer: Testing and Inspection
INSPECT TACHOMETER
a. Check the operation.
1. Connect a tune-up test tachometer, and start the engine.
NOTE:
-
Reversing the connection of the tachometer will damage the transistors and the diodes inside.
-
When removing or installing the tachometer, be careful not to drop it or give it heavy shocks.
2. Compare the test and the tachometer indications.
