Headlamp Dimmer Switch: Service and Repair

HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

REPLACEMENT

HINT:  Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

1. PRECAUTION

Refer to Air Bag Systems; Service Precautions. 

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.3
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2 
6. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021)

8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR 
9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER

10. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

11. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Disengage the clamp from the headlight dimmer switch assembly as shown in the illustration.

c. Disengage the claw and remove the headlight dimmer switch assembly as shown in the illustration.
