4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.3
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2
6. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021)
8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR
9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
10. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable sub-assembly.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
b. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE STEERING SENSOR (W/ VSC)
12. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the spiral cable sub-assembly with a new one: Scratches, cracks, dents or chips on the
connector or the spiral cable sub-assembly.
13. INSTALL STEERING SENSOR (W/ VSC)
14. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
b. Set the turn signal switch to the neutral position.
NOTE: If it is not in the neutral position, the pin of the turn signal switch may snap.
c. Install the spiral cable sub-assembly.
NOTE: When replacing the spiral cable sub-assembly with a new one, remove the lock pin before installing the steering wheel assembly.
d. Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
15. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
16. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR
17. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the ignition switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
CAUTION: After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation
