EGR Valve Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT RESISTANCE OF EGR VALVE POSITION SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the EGR valve position sensor connector.
(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals VC and E2.
Resistance: 1.5-4.3 K ohms
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the EGR valve position sensor.
(c) Reconnect the EGR valve position sensor connector.
2. INSPECT POWER OUTPUT VOLTAGE OF EGR VALE POSITION SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Connect a voltmeter to terminals VC and E2 of the ECU, and measure the power source voltage.
Voltage: 4.5-5.5V
