1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then the coolant temperature switch connector.

2.

Disconnect lower radiator hose from coolant inlet housing.

3.

Remove timing belt and sprockets. Refer to TIMING BELT for procedure.

4.

Remove water bypass tubes to water pump cover attaching bolts, then the three water pump attaching bolts, Fig. 17.

5.

Remove water pump and pump cover as an assembly, then remove two 0-rings and gasket.

6.

Remove water pump to water pump cover attaching bolts, then remove water pump.

7.

Reverse procedure to install. Tighten water pump bolts to specifications in sequence shown, Fig. 18.
