Campaign - Igniter Inspection

1983/1984 Camry and 1984 Van/Cargo Van Igniter Campaign (SSC # 608)

Toyota will conduct a Special Service Campaign on 1983/1984 Camry and 1984 Vans to inspect, and if necessary, replace the igniter sub-assembly.

Known owners of these vehicles will be notified by mail on August 15, 1986. Most customers will bring their owner notification with them. However, if
a customer brings their vehicle to you without a notification letter and it falls within the VIN ranges listed below, please perform the repair according to
the attached instructions.

Inspection/Replacement Procedures

Please refer to the attached technical instructions for details of the inspection/replacement procedures.

Parts Ordering

As with previous campaigns, the necessary parts must be ordered from your facing Parts Distribution Center. The parts required for this campaign
include:

Note: Check that the replacement igniter is marked with a short black mark.

In order to eliminate over-ordering or excessive parts inventory, it is recommended that the initial parts order does not exceed 15% of the number of
vehicles on the owner list for your dealership. If you are a new dealership or a recent buy/sell, you may not receive a VIN list. In this case, it is
recommended that parts are ordered based on owner response.

Completion Label

Following installation of the center arm, a SSC completion label will be affixed to the left front door post near the door hinge on the Van and on the
firewall for the Camry. Additional SSC completion labels may be ordered through the non-parts system on a 1450 order form or through the TDN
system.
