Removal of Igniter

5.

Remove the two igniter retaining screws and lift the igniter out of the distributor housing.

6.

Discard the retaining screws.

7.

Discard the igniter.

Installation of Igniter

Installation of Igniter

1.

Install a new igniter using two new retaining screws.

2.

Install the pick-up coil (signal generator) lead wire as indicated below.

Note:

Two different types of end terminal on pick-up coil lead wires

Separate Nut Terminal:

Twist lead wires as illustrated, then install white        wire terminal first onto the pick-up coil side igniter terminal.              
  Welded Nut Terminal: Install white wire terminal first onto the pick-up coil side igniter terminal without twisting the lead
wires.
