Dimmer Switch: Testing and Inspection

LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT

a. Inspect continuity.

1. Check the continuity between the light control rheostat connector terminals when operating the rheostat volume knob.

b. Check the resistance between terminal 3 (RV) and terminal 4 (T) when operating the light control rheostat volume knob. Also, check that the

resistance changes continuously.

Standard:
Turn the knob to maximum: Approx. 10 k Ohms 
Turn the knob to minimum: Approx. 0 k Ohms
