9. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

11. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
12. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
13. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service

and Repair/Removal

14. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal
15. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
16. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY BRACKET See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
17. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
18. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE
19. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
20. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 engine wires.

(b) Remove the 8 bolts, 2 nuts, and the cylinder head cover.

21. SET NO. 1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Clearance/Adjustments
22. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY See: Seals and Gaskets/Front Crankshaft Seal/Service and Repair/Removal
23. REMOVE CRANK POSITION SENSOR See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Camshaft Position Sensor/Service and

Repair/Removal

24. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 12 bolts and 2 nuts.
