Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal

From 03-2006 to 10-2006

2AZ-FXE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement

2. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Testing and Inspection/Coolant (for Engine)
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Battery, Hybrid Drive/Service and Repair/HV

Battery/Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM SIDE LH COVER
6. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY
7. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE
8. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM SIDE LH COVER

10. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets

and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and

Repair/Removal

12. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

13. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and Repair/Removal
14. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

Repair/Removal

15. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

Repair/Removal

16. REMOVE ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and Repair/Removal
17. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
(b) Remove the connector clamp and wire harness clamp.
(c) Remove the wire harness clamp bracket from the wire harness.
(d) Remove the bolt, and then remove the crankshaft position sensor.

REMOVAL

1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement

2. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Testing and Inspection/Coolant (for Engine)
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Battery, Hybrid Drive/Service and Repair/HV

Battery/Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM SIDE LH COVER
6. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY
7. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE
8. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY
