Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation
From 03-2006 to 10-2006
2AZ-FXE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring on the crankshaft position sensor.
(b) Install the crankshaft position sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80in-lbf)
(c) Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
2. INSTALL ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and Repair/Installation
3. CONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and
Repair/Installation
4. CONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and
Repair/Installation
5. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and Repair/Installation
6. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Installation
7. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and
Repair/Installation
8. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets
and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Installation
9. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Battery, Hybrid Drive/Service and Repair/HV
Battery/Installation
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. ADD COOLANT (for Engine) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Testing and Inspection/Coolant (for Engine)
12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Testing and Inspection/Cooling System
13. CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
14. WARM UP COMPRESSOR See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
15. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization procedure See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTICE: Some vehicle systems require initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
