1. PRECAUTION

Observe Air Bag Systems; Service Precautions.

2. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

CAUTION:  After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL TRANSAXLE)
4. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER REAR
5. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
6. REMOVE RR CONSOLE BOX
7. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX FRONT
9. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.1

10. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.2
11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX DUCT NO.1 (A/T TRANSAXLE)

12. REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER

a. Disconnect the holder (with connectors) from the airbag sensor assembly center.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and the airbag sensor assembly center.

13. INSPECT AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER
14. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER

a. Check that the ignition switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION:  After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

c. Temporarily install the airbag sensor assembly center with the 3 bolts.

NOTE: 
-

If the airbag sensor assembly center has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector,
replace the airbag sensor assembly center with a new one.

When installing the airbag sensor assembly center, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched
between other parts.

d. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.

Torque: 17.5 N.m (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

e. Connect the holder (with connectors) to the airbag sensor assembly center.
f.

Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the airbag sensor assembly center.

g. Check that the water-proof sheet is properly set.

15. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
16. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
